Mrs. Katie Hansen
Hello! I'm Mrs. Hansen, and I teach high school English Language Arts and Journalism. As a proud FHS graduate, it’s especially meaningful to return to my alma mater and work with students who are eager to learn and grow. I hold a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from South Dakota State University – GO JACKS! – and have transitioned from FACS teacher to English teacher.
Whether we’re diving into complex literature, refining writing skills, or collaborating to create a memorable yearbook, I challenge my students to push their boundaries and look at both their successes and failures as opportunities for growth. In my classroom, effort and creativity are just as important as the final product, and I encourage students to take pride in their hard work and the process.
Outside of teaching, I also advise the Yearbook Committee, where I help students capture the moments and memories that make our school year so special. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband (Travis) and four children (Finley, Harley, Milo, & Jack).
